Gestational surrogacy refers to when a woman agrees to carry and deliver a baby on behalf of someone else. Gestational surrogates are not the child’s biological mother as no genetic link between the two exists. The embryo that is implanted into the surrogate is created from the intended parents and/or respective donors.
Here is a complete breakdown of everything a potential surrogate will need to know before completing an application:
Before joining our surrogacy program, you must fulfill our list of gestational surrogate requirements, all of which exist to protect your health and safety, as well as that of the child you carry:
When we receive your surrogate application we’ll review it closely. If our requirements are fully met, and we feel confident to move forward with your application, we’ll connect with you directly.
Learn more about surrogate requirements.
The surrogate application requests information regarding your medical history, with a strong focus on your pregnancy and delivery histories.
Our team will review your application in full and if we determine that you meet our requirements, then congratulations! You are one step closer to joining our surrogate program. We will contact you directly so that we can interview you, talk about your application in more detail, and get a better sense of who you are as a person.
If you are accepted into our program, we will create your surrogate profile. This is the profile that will be used to first “introduce” you to prospective intended parents. Rest assured, the profile will contain no private details – information such as your full name or address will be kept completely confidential. Instead, the profile will have an overview of your medical details, personality, and other characteristics.
To begin the matching process, we host separate meetings with each party to determine if a match can be confidently made. If so, we’ll move forward to book a group meeting where essential topics will be discussed. Some of the topics we will cover during this group meeting include communication preferences, what happens in the event of multiples, where everyone stands on pregnancy reduction/termination, and what forms of support everyone has in their lives.
If an agreement can be made on these topics, then you will be matched and start the next steps of the process. During this time, our team will continue to facilitate communication between all parties.
As a Mississippi resident, whether you hail from Jackson, Gulfport, Southaven, Biloxi, or elsewhere, our team can connect you with the right intended parents and resources needed for a successful surrogacy journey.
Should you have any questions, we are always here to help. Thank you again for your interest, and we look forward to reviewing your surrogate application soon.
